task type

I understand the definition of the different task types (fixed duration,
fixed work, and fixed units). But, I don't see any difference in my project
plan (duration or amount of work) when I change the task type (for example
change duration to work).
Can anyone explain how these different types affect the project schedule?

Changing the task type won't change the task itself. It only changes the way
that project handles changes to that task.
The basic equation is Work = Duration x Units.
If you have a fixed work task, changing duration will change the units.
If you have a fixed units task, changing duration will change the work.
If nothing changes on a task (except the task type) then work, duration and
units will not change.
