Task updates accross projects

hi,
I have a Master schedule where I want summay task updates
from a number of other schedules to be reflected. The
master shced is intended to be the high level summary view
of all other schedules.

I tried creating links using the predecessors tab in Task
Info dialog but that is not working as desired.

I want the task summary name and progress to be imported
into the master sched without affecting the slave
schedules. It would also be ideal if the Gantt bar charts
would reflect the progress (% Complete) as if the task was
created in the master sched.

Help on how to accomplish this is appreciated.
