tasks auto scroll to most future date

I've never seen anything on this subject in newsgroups or online support.

Outlook 2002. When I open my tasks, it always scrolls to highlight the last,
most future, task. If I set the folder to sort ascending, it scrolls down to
the last task. If I set the folder to sort descending, it highlights the
first task.

I WANT it to sort ascending, and highlight my most urgent task, which would
be one for today or <gasp!> an old one that is now overdue. Right now, I
have to always scroll back UP everytime I open tasks.

I've had Outlook for 3 generations now, and never had it do this until
OL2002.

Any suggestions?
