Template Help...

Hi all.

I'm a little bit of a Publisher Newbie, but have been extremely impressed
with the bits that I've used on it. OK, I'm not doing fully magazine
editorial or anything like that, but I do like it.

To help make my life easier I wanted to create a template to help my layout
a page that I want to print several variations on, then cut out. It's
actually a layout for CD Case inserts.

I've done the design for the layout of the page, and have turned this into a
template. This is great so far. But, I've seen that on some of the MS
original templates there are layout boxes that you cannot select, and these
don't appear on any printouts. For example the Template called "Blank
(Avery 8931)" under the "Publications for print --> Labels --> CD/DVD
Labels".

My question is... how can I put a nonselectable box like that on my
template?

Thanks in advance for any helpful info.

You could put it on the View, Master Page, ctrl + m, when you are ready to
print, check "Ignore Master Page."

Hi Mary.

I've seen that trick (it's what I'm using at the moment), it just seems a
little strange that MS have a feature in their original templates that
cannot be re-produced by the rest of us mere mortals. I was hoping that
someone would be able to tell me how to reproduce the effect. hmmm, maybe
in Office 2007.
