Template location

I want to set up a workgroup template folder so that everyone can use them. I
cannot find a method similar to the procedure for Word. How can I direct
Powerpoint to show them? Thanks.

Connie, your best bet might be to copy the *.pot files directly into
your users' template folders. Depending on the operating system, this
could be C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033 or some
similar path. You can create a folder within this folder as well.

An email with the *.pot files attached and instructions as to where to
detach them is one method I have seen done. Another is to have your IT
folks install them as part of their companywide standard setup of PCs,
of course.

Best of luck,
Tony

If I can find it, I created a sample PPA (Add-In) file that contains a
toolbar with an icon, that when clicked opens up a Form listing all the
templates in a specified workgroup folder location. You select the one you
want to use and click an OK button and a new presentation is created based
on that template. If I can run across it this evening, I will try and put
something together on my FAQ page of my site. I will also reply back to
this post with the info.
