Text after Headings

At one time I needed to place body text directly after a heading to give a
report the required format. In order to have the TOC not include the body
text, I think there was a hidden character to fool the TOC that the
paragraph ended after the heading. I have forgotten this trick and I hope
that someone knows how this can be done.

Gord, try right-clicking the link, and hit Save Target As. Then save the
zip
file to your desktop. Open it, drag the doc out onto your desktop. I was
able to see it just fine.

OK Anne, Nothing wrong with my technique or your suggestion. I finally
tried using WordPerfect to open the .doc file and Bingo!. (I don't know why
Word couldn't open this file).
With regard to the "run-in"style after headings, the solution offered is
reasonable (using SEQ commands). Ideally these commands should include TC
codes to automate the Table of Contents. This cries out for the building of
macros because of the arduous construction of these commands.
Thanks, Gordon

I just downloaded the file.
It unzipped properly, and I was able to see the file content.

Anne also was able to see the file,

I'd say there's a problem wit hyour word installation.
The file is very old.
I found versions from 1996.

Yes, I've got another example.
