Text box margins

Although my template text boxes are fine, everytime I
create a new text box using the text tool the text box
margins are set to 0. How can I change that default?

Create a text box. Right click it and select "Format Text Box". Click on the
"Text Box" tab and set your margins to your preference. Click on the "Colors
and Lines" tab and check the box at the bottom labeled "Default for new
objects".

Now create a new Text Box. Does it have your new default?
