Text boxes and Autoshapes

I have a Word document with some text boxes and some autoshapes around text.
When I go to print, my text boxes do not show up, and neither do my
autoshapes, but the words within the autoshape show up. However, the words I
have typed in the text box do not. Is there some sort of setting that I have
messed up? I have Microsoft XP Office Suite.
