TEXT BOXES

I am using Publisher 2003 to create a roster of club members and I am using a
separate text box with a photo for each member. Is there a way to go back
and insert a new text box into the file and have remaining text boxes shift
down and onto the next page to allow room for the new box?

Use a table. Insert a row when you need to add a member. Publisher tables do not
span pages, so you will have to do some editing.

Ideally the best way is to use the catalog merge. You can add a name and picture
to the data base and create a new publication, only takes a few minutes.

Dear Mary:

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try it. My only problem is that not all
the members have submitted a picture, so their row (section) will be smaller
than those with a picture. I will have to estimate that the average page
will take four rows and go from there. I guess I will need to create an
additional column in the spreadsheet to include the photo for each person so
I can merge it.

Can you merge to a section (ie. just pages 10 – 56) within the membership
roster as the other pages have by-laws and other stuff not part of the actual
membership roster?

Many thanks,

Rod

When you finish your merge, in step 5 of the wizard, there is the option to add
the merge to another publication.

The easiest and less frustrating way to create your merge is to put the data
base and the pictures in the same folder. That way you do not have to create a
path to the photos. In the picture field simply type joe.jpg or ralph.jpg
