Text editing

Hi,
Can any nice person out there help on what I think should be simple!
When I add text to a line, say, just one word which moves the other text
along till one word falls off the end. OK so far?
BUT! the word that falls off starts a new line! is that right or am I
stupid? (both I guess!)
I don't want a new line, I want it to drop into the next line (moving stuff
along if ness)
Thanks in advance,
John

No, not okay so far. What program is it you are working in?

?? You don't want a new line, but you want it to drop to the next line? I
guess I'm thick today, but I don't understand the difference in what you
want. Perhaps if I knew what program you're talking about, it might make
more sense.

Remember, we cannot see what you're doing there, so you have to be very
specific with your descriptions.

Remove the carriage return from the end of the line you are editing. In
other words arrow over to the end of the line and press the Delete Key
and the two lines will blend.

It sounds like there's a hard carriage return embedded in there somewhere.
