Text: How do I lock it?

Can somebody help me out with the trick of locking text
size in the body of your web page so it is forced to be
displayed in the size you post it instead of following
the settings on the visitors IE?

Many Thanks,
Mike

First a question: if you have eyesight difficulties would
you spend anytime on a site that demands that you view it
in a different font size than what you have selected for
your browser?

This subject comes up often on these newsgroups. The
standard answer is: convert your site to graphics in the
font size of your choice so they absolutely cannot be
modified by the visitor (read my question above)

If you are also asking the question based on the
observation that all of your careful layout work goes
down the drain due to different font sizes and different
resolution settings, you need to use tables (set at 100%)
in which to place your content and forget that absolute
position was ever included in Front Page (not all
browsers support it).

Describe what you mean by "size." The size of fonts is always relative to
the screen resolution of the machine on which the pages are being viewed.
So, the same size (in pixels) of font looks larger or smaller at different
screen resolutions. You have no control over this.

Hi Mike,

If you would like to keep the size the same irrespective of the setting in
IE->View->Text Size option, you could use the Style sheet to give a fixed
size.

Eg: <body style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12pt">

Vijay
