The Close Button

Why does Publisher not display the Close button at the end of the Menu Bar
when only one publication is open? It is frustrating, as when you want to
close the publication to start a new one, you have to go the long way round
by clicking on File then Close.

Many thanks for your reply Don. Whilst I appreciate your answer, it
unfortunately doesn't completely resolve my problem. For example I may have
started creating a document (publication), but then decide to abandon it to
restart with a fresh one. Consequently there is no close button for the
document I want to abandon and have to go the long way by clicking on File
and Close, without actually closing the whole of Publisher. If you look at
Word, there is always a Close button of any active document, and so therefore
if I wanted to abandon a document and start afresh I would click on the close
button relating to the document, not the whole of Word.

I hope that makes sense, and would be grateful if you or anyone knows how to
customise Publisher to operate in the same way as other Microsoft programs.

Ctrl+F4.
