This gives fix for file problems

Hi Patricia,

There is a MS Knowledge Base article that addresses the issue with the security update. Their recommendation is to not remove the
update and use the steps here

If you have just installed an update to Windows and are having trouble
opening, saving, copying files, see the following link:

Didn't work for me, though.

See

The message gives clearer instructions for doing what Microsoft is
recommending.

BTW: I found out why my system isn't having the problem. I'm running
WindowsXP64 and the HP software that is throwing fits over the update won't
run on my system.

It's especially annoying that although I do have the offending software
(installed by my scanner), I've never used it and probably never will. But
since the described fix didn't work, it's likely that there is some other
shell extension that VERCLSID.EXE is tripping over.

I know. HP installs some very deep and very persistent software. When it
works, it can be helpful. When it doesn't, it is very hard to get rid of.

I had same problem. Not using the HP software anymore, so just uninstalled
it. Fixed problem.
