My problem is that the data in A is burried amongst quite a lot of html
I started with a formula simlar to the one you gave, but tried to fine
way to use SEARCH to look within the cells. Here is a sample of th
data that would be in one cell under "Description" The Value I nee
to compare is 64671 in the ninth row in this example.

You really should first try to convert your data to something that is
more excel compatible
