Tifs are too dark in Word - Can't Change

Hello!
Yesterday I created a flyer in Word 2003 using pictures in the .tif format,
imported into the document. It all went smoothly and the flyer turned out
great. I saved it and printed a few copies. Everything was fine.

Then, today I opened the document to print out some more copies, and all of
the .tifs are showing up very dark. I have checked the picture format
settings. I have tried lightening with the picture toolbar adjustments,
everything. I even tried starting a new document and importing new .tifs into
it. They show up very darkened too; even in the brand new document.

Before I created the flyer in Word, I had started it in Publisher, and
imported a few of the .tifs into there and saved it. I can open that .pub and
the .tifs look as they should; no darkness. I can also import other types of
graphics into Word with no darkness, such as .jpg and .bmp.

Can anyone tell me what the heck happened to my document, and to my
installation of Word, that is making it display .tifs incorrectly?
Thank you, OcarinaMaker

....so, I opened each of those .tif graphics in Microsoft Office Picture
Manager and exported them to .bmp files and then imported them into my Word
document, to replace the .tif files that were corrupted somehow. Again, the
document was great and printed just fine. I saved it, closed it, and reopened
it to verify that it was working correctly. Then I worked on something else
for a while, on a different computer. About an hour later, I came back to
this computer, opened up the Word document, and now all the .bmp graphics are
darkened. What the hell is going on?

I have run virus and spyware scans and am reasonably sure that I have no
vermin on this machine. Is this a known issue with Word 2003?
Can anybody help me, please?
Thank you and Best Regards, OcarinaMaker

....now I tried saving it to a thumb drive, and opening it in Word 2002 on a
different computer. I got the same results, all the graphics are darkened.
Sorry about the multiple posts, but I figure it is best to provide the
details of my unsuccessful troubleshooting of this issue.
Again, Thanks you, OcarinaMaker

Perhaps they are getting suntanned from exposure to the brightness of your
monitor? <g> Sorry, don't mean to make light of your problem. I hope someone
has more of a clue than I do.
