"Tiger"

Since the next version of OSX is almost out the door, I have started
wondering if my current version (2004) is going to have any problems if
I decide to upgrade.

You're going to have to wait until Tiger comes out, then, and wait to see
reports from early adopters as to whether it works OK and/pr announcements
form Microsoft as to whether updates to Office will be needed. You can rest
assured that MS will have been testing Office 2004 in Tiger for some time.
No one who might know the answer already can say anything due to NDA
prohibitions, as I'm sure you must know.

PLEASE always state which version of Microsoft Office you are using -
**2004**, X or 2001. It's often impossible to answer your questions

Why would an "NDA" prevent you from saying "Yes it works."? None of the
NDA's that I have read and signed have been that restrictive. In fact, I
have asked other companies whose products I use and I have gotten a "Yes it
works".

So have you read Apple's NDA? I'm not on the current beta, but based on
a previous beta, I'd agree with Paul's position, even if other companies
are releasing info. Especially since he isn't a Microsoft employee.

Personally, I'd be very leery of making a definitive pronouncement until
Tiger RTM.

Why not give Paul the benefit of the doubt, or else ask MS directly?

The NDA is publicly available:
http://appleseed.apple.com/agreements/CSCA_092404.pdf

Most NDA's I've signed (and I've signed a few ;-) ) clearly specified
that I could not even say that I was testing a software for the company,
let alone mentioning how the software interacted with other software.

If you really want to know, you either need to get ADC (the full
package, not the online free stuff ;- ) or be in the betas :-\
