Time scaled resources

I am wanting to time scale a volume of preload volumes of material to
determine the best use of material.
How can I allocate quantities to a resource called "preload"
I must be able to export to EXCEL to graph its use with the Task Description

Create a resource of type material then assign it using the units you chose.
The Resource usage view will then show usage over time. Use the Export to
Excel wizard (Analysis toolbar) or copy paste to get it to Excel.
