Time submissions and Actuals query - MSP-2007

Hello Team,
We use MSP-2007 and now my project resources have not
been consistent with submittingtheir time. As a result the workplan leads
have had to go into their workplans and manually apply actuals against tasks.
We are now at a
point where everyone on the team should submit their own time, however
most people see "You have 15 unsubmitted timesheets" on thei PWA home
page. Rather than have them submit all those timesheets and mess up our
metrics I was thinking about deleting all timesheets (by going to the
Server Settings menu, click on Delete Enterprise Objects, then select
"Timesheets") from the project start until last week so we could start
fresh. If I do this, will the actuals applied via any submitted
timesheets be wiped out?

Kindly update.

Regards,
WDP

Deleting the timesheets will not remove the "You have 15 unsubmitted
timesheets" message on your PWA homepage. That is controlled by the fact
that the timesheet periods exist, are unsubmitted and the period is in the
state of "Open"

You can a) delete the timesheet periods in the past or b) you can close the
timesheet periods. The former I believe will delete the actual existing
timesheets in those periods after you click ok to the warning message. The
latter will leave all timesheets in tact but will not count as an
unsubmitted timesheet on the alerts webpart.

Regardless, timesheets are not directly connected to the project schedule.
They are stored in a static set of tables once they have been created. The
interface between timesheets and the project schedule is My Tasks where you
can import timesheet hours and submit to the PM for approval.

Hope this helps,

Jonathan Sofer
