Timesheet approval by Resource Manager

Hi,

Have been trying to set up timesheet approval by Resource Manager (RM)
and so far no success. Although RM's resources can be seen on the
Resource Center page, the "Approve Timsheet " action is not available
on page.
What I have done so far - in no partcular order:
- Enable and set "Managed Time Periods" via Customise PWA
- Allow "Approve timesheet for resources" and "Timesheet approval"
features via Server configuration
- Add our RM to default EPM RM group
Any idea on what else I should check?

Thanks..

E.

Did you set up an RBS outline code structure to mimic your organization's
reporting structure? Did you populate the RBS value for each resource to
indicate "who reports to whom" in Project Server? Let us know.

Hi Dale,

Thanks.
RBS structure was created in Enterprise Global via Customise/Enterprise
fields/Custom OUtline Code/Resource...
Then each Enterprise resource allocated RBS value via Enterprise
resource pool..
Both were done from MS Project 2003, is this what you mean when you
refer to "populate value ... in Project Server"
Also, as I can see my resources in the Resouce Center, does this
confirm that RBS
has been set up?

Are the RM's included in the Enterprise Resource Pool? Is their RBS outline
code value ONLY ONE LEVEL HIGHER than the people whose timesheets they must
approve? Let us know.

Hi Dale,

Yes to both, hence I think the rerason why I can see my resources on
Resource center page.
Still can not see "Approve timesheet" in actions. list of same page.
And get "You do not have permission to.. " when clicking on view
resource assignment or adjust actuals.
Could this be something to do with categorie/globa permissions,
security template???

Thanks.

If you have changed the default permissions in any Groups or Categories,
then yes, this could be the cause of the problem. Without knowing what you
have changed, I doubt I could troubleshoot your problem from a distance.
Sorry.
