Timing and Order settings aren't visible in Custom Animation

I can't change timing and order of how things appear on a slide because the
Custom Animation "box" doesn't list the elements of what I have on the slide.
It only refers me to the master slide order which I don't want to change. I
just want to se the order of what appears on a particular slide.

My guess is that you are familiar with PowerPoint 95/97/2000 and just
recently upgraded to 2002/XP/2003. I say ..., my crystal ball is getting
quite a work out these last few days (I can barely see the carolers for the
snow storm) .

You will need to rethink the whole animation thing, it works very different
and way better.

1) Select you object
2) Open the custom animation pane
3) Click on the 'Add effect' button
4) Select 'Entrance'
5) Select ... oh I don't know ... let's pick Spiral In

This now appears in the custom animations list. The new animation ideas are
very powerful and easy to get used to. Play, you'll have fun.

Did you apply animations to the master slide? If so, they always play first
and are listed in grey at the top position of the animation task pane. You
cannot change or re-order them unless you copy them to the actual slide. To
do this, click on the item "Master: Body", a small arrow will appear on its
right side. Click on the arrow and you will find "Copy to the slide" in the
menu. If you choose this option, all these animations are "normal"
animations on this slide and may be rearranged.

Kind regards,
Ute
