Timing ppt with music

I have a music file that plays from the beginning of the first slide. Certain
events are timed with the music. The problem I am having is that the timing
is off the first time you run the presentation. The next time you run it, it
is fine. Is there some sort of preloading I can do to have it run correctly
the first time?

timimg and syncing sounds is not a strong poit of ppt!

Powerpoint does preload the upcoming slide so if thats complex you might
want to try inserting a blank slide with an automatic zero second transition.

Like what John had said, PowerPoint isn't good in timing.
You should always pre-run the presentation for the first time before you
start the actual presentation.

Thanks, guys.

I tried loading an introduction slide before the first with a five-second
delay. No luck.

And I can't prerun it as it is a gift.

If I play the sound at zero volume on the intro slide, will that help the
timing of the sound in later slides?

You could do a trial run on your computer to see if it works <g>
