Title placeholder does not appear on slide even though it is in master

Hi,
First of all, I must say that my respect for you guys who can wrest
PowerPoint to the ground day-after-day is increasing every day!

We are new to PowerPoint, and we have recieved a series of PowerPoint
presentations from various sources that we have to edit and insert into
our Learning Management System.

I am working on PowerPoint 2002 in Windows XP. I have checked the
Master slide and there is a Title Placeholder there. But it doesn't
appear in the slides, so consequently it doesn't appear in the outline
view, which is our navigation. (This is a function of the LMS that we
cannot control.)

Where is my Title Placeholder and how do I get it to appear in the
Outline view?

Thanks!
Kim

Just because your slide master has that placeholder, it will only appear on
your slide if you choose that layout. easiest way to check is to go to one
of these suspect slides, click the "Format" menu and select "Slide Layout".
Which thumbnail in the taskpane to the right is selected? I assume it is
the "Blank" layout one. if so, click the one you want (probably "Title
Only"). You can type in a title and if you want it to appear in your
outline but not actually on the slide you can drag the placeholder off the
slide (usually to the top).

Holler back if this doesn't fix it or if you have further questions.

Thanks so much; I will remember that. But, I just found out that I can
type the titles directly into the Outline pane, and the placeholder
appears in the slide. AWESOME.
