To count an alphabet in a cell

Hi,

Can someone help me,

my issue is, if for example there is text entered in one cell like
"aabcd" .I want to count the number time "a" appearing in the cell.

Try using

=(LEN(A1) - LEN(SUBSTITUTE(A1, B1, ""))) / LEN(B1)

where A1 contains the cell you want to check, and B1 the letter that you
want to count.
