Toggle field codes.

I have the field code for the date in my letters, but this has the annoying
habit of updating the date automatically, so that if I go to some old letter
todays date is entered.

How can I format the field code so that a date change can be only at my
action?

If you put the CreateDate field into the document, it will always remain the
CreateDate. If you use the CreateDate field in a Template, the date
displayed is always the date you created the document from the template.

I did figure this out. The 'insert' menu has a 'add date & time' which
inserts a "date....." field giving the problem I mention, but I have altered
all these now.
I am making a macro to insert the "CreateDate" in future.
