Too much information .... Please has this happened to anyone else.

I have an older version of Office 97 and I am trying to do some work in Word. For some reason when I open the document (someone else created) it shows me a whole bunch of information I didn't put in it like the path to the document, and the font and the last time it was opened or saved and when I try to print it I have like 5 pages for 20 lines I want to print. I have really got to get this fixed before I go nuts.

I would really appreciate any help

Just a thought: check in the "Open dialog" next to the box "Files of type"
that "Word Documents" is showing and not something else. If not choose word
documents and see if the document opens normally. What your probably seeing
is the normally invisible header of the document.

Go to Tools, Options, the Print tab and deselect all
those from the list - they'll stop printing out.
