Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Each time I open Word the tool bars selected for view do not show up. I have to deselect and select to get the toolbars to show. Any advice?

Yep: The dreaded Blue Jellybean of Death strikes again...

In the top extreme right corner of the Word window, there is an oblong
button that glows blue if you click it.

It is completely undocumented, but it hides the user interface.

Click it and your toolbars will come back...

As far as I am concerned, it's a bug, and I have bugged it. If you would
kindly use Help>Send Feedback to add your voices to the voting register at
Microsoft, we might get it fixed in the next version.

Cheers

I have the same problem...it's been driving me nuts. Found the answer here.
