Total Slack Calculation

Sandy

Hello Everyone,

I have MSProject 2003. I have the auto calculate turned on. There is no
negative slack. I save and close my file. When I reopen it there is
negative slack. I press the calculate button and the negative slack goes
away. I check my auto calculate and it's still on. I save and close my file
again...but upon reopening, there is negative slack once again! It's a
vicious circle!

Does anyone have any words of wisdom?

Thanks!!

Sandy,
Just a wild guess but do you have links on summary lines? If so, remove
them. How about paste links, are you using any either to other files or
within the file itself?

Hello John,

No summary links, no paste links, no external links, no consolidated
schedules. Just your average, every day, run of the mill 2500 line item
schedule. All ASAP with only FS links.

Thanks!

Sandy,
Interesting and thanks for answering some question I did not yet ask. On
the Calculation tab of Tools/Options, what other options are checked for
your file? For example, "updating tasks status updates resource status",
etc. What is the Status Date (Project/Project Information)?

I'm reaching a little bit here, but I thought I ask a few more questions
before I suggest you send me the file for analysis.
