Track Changes and cpu usage

Has anyone had experience with large numbers of tracked
changes in word causing extremely high cpu usage
(especially when scrolling). The caret is disappearing
when changes are on the screen. Accepting changes seems to
fix it, but the document isn't excessively long, and there
aren't an unreasonable number of changes.

I am definitely having this problem. I am not even able to continue

working in the document, every time it is opened now Word is not
responding.....Help!

Thank you so much!
I was able to finish the document. Now I want to change it to not showing the deleted text, but showing the lines on the side to indicate a change only long enough to print it. I haven't been able to do this, it locks up while trying to spool to print. Any ideas?
