Hi all
Word 2002 (Word XP) removed some of the useful
functionality in Track Changes that existed in previous
versions of Word 2000 and Word 97.
For example, with Word 2002 it is not possible to
highlight deleted text using a vertical line in the page
border, unless it is also shown as strikethrough. If you
set deleted text as hidden, you also lose the border mark,
so there is no way to see that something was deleted.
There is no way to get back the old functionality through
Word's built in menus and options. I know, I have checked
thoroughly and searched the web, including Microsoft's
website. This has been a major annoyance for many users.
I am told that Word 2003 has restored the functionality
(unconfirmed!).
But in the meantime I have written a macro which will
change Word 2002's settings to whatever you want.
Including to the settings described above.
If you want a copy, email me at
(e-mail address removed) and i'll happily pass
send it out to you.
