Track Changes

I have to work on docs that are sometimes up to 50 pages
long. When I add a lot of changes while editing (with
Track Changes on), sometimes Word just quits. It's
strange because two other folks have noticed that it'll
quit in the same place every time. We've been doing work
arounds, but it is very inefficient and frustrating. What
can be done to fix this? Is there a setting somewhere or
is Track Changes just a feature that can only go so long
before puttering out?
