tracking progress with out changing baseline

I am trying to keep the base line intact while adding changes to the schedule
with out luck. I'm tracking individula changes via tool/tracking/update
tasks but when I add an actual start date it changes all my base line.

I assume that base line is the original information when project was created.

I'm new to MS Project. I'm I not inserting updates in the right place?

Hi Jorge,

You are inputting actual info in the right place but the baseline is NOT the
original walue in fields like start, finish, duration, etc.
To keep a baseline that will not change during tracking, once your original
state is allright:

Tools
Tracking
Save Baseline

After tracking, the new plan can be compared to the baseline in the Tracking
Gantt view (amongst othe rpossibilities)
