Training demos: "error on page" message

Bunchan

I did not complete a online FrontPage training program, and went back to do
it again. I keep getting "error on page" at the bottom left corner although
I seem to be getting text information. However, I cannot get interactive
demos, i.e., the demos actually walk me through the actual operations. The
button, I believe, labeled "demo in FrontPage" does not respond. I remember
the button triggered download of files and launched FP. Is this because I
did not complete the demo first time around? Do we only have one chance to
get those training programs? Or, simplly, is there anything corrupted in my
PC?

What are you referring too?
Where are you doing this?
Have trying contacting the site where this online training is provided?

Well, you don't have Office 2003 installed, which is required for certain training sessions. However
if you are not trying those sessions, have made sure that ActiveX is allowed to run on your system
by following the info contained in the link I provide below?

You seem to be right. I tried the link that you gave me, but I couldn't make
it work. Instead, I have tried to do the same thing with Netscape and at
least I had the file downloaded. So, that might be the way around. I see
the files are organized differenly, however.

What I do not understand is that I was able to download the file and run the
demo first time around. Why suddenly I get the error message?

Is Office XP considered Office 2002? Should I have bought FP2002 then?
Would I expect other issues as I move on considering the fact that I use
FP2003 and Office XP/2002?

1. ActiveX is only supported in IE browsers.

2. Office XP is made up of Office 2002 applications.

3. If you have installed Windows XP, Service Pack 2, ActiveX components are blocked, you must enable
them in IE.

4. At this point in time, you may not be able to find a retail version FP2002.

Thomas,
Thank you for your help. I think I have enabled what I am supposed to
enable, but can't make it work for some reason. I get the following message:

"IE Script Error: an error has occured in the script on this page.
Line: 1479
Char: 1
Error: Expected '}'
Code: 0
URL:http://office.microsoft.com/training/training.aspx?"

Is this still an Active X issue? Or something has been corrupted? Should I
go ask someone else?

Based on the link you posted, you must have one of the listed application installed, and FP2003 is
not one of them.
