Yes.

But it depends on what Office program and what you're trying to do. Also helps to know which version of PPT.

Care to elaborate?

I have some great nature slides that I would like to use in advertising promos. I use PP 2002 and Publisher 2003.

Ok, then I would suggest that you save your PPT sides out as images.

Do a File/Save As and in the dropdown box at the bottom where it says "as type," select an image format. PNG is usually my preference, but you might want to go with the perferred format for Publisher. Maybe JPG or TIF, then? People on the Publisher newsgroup can probably tell you the best format for Publisher files.

You may need to increase the resolution of the images you're exporting from PPT, depending on the size of your ad promo and whether you're printing to a printer in your shop or sending to a service bureau for printing. See http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00052.htm for information on that.

If you post in the Publisher newsgroup to ask what the best image file format is to use for your ad promos, I'd suggest you include information such as version of Publisher and if you're printing the files in-house (and to what kind of printer) or sending the file out for printing. Not positive they will need all that info, but too much is usually better than not enough. :)

As far as that goes, Publisher may well be like PPT in that the best image file format really depends on the image itself. If that's the case, then you have choices, and choices, IMO, are always good.
