Transfer Upgrade to New machine

I have Office XP Professional Edition Upgrade. I want to install it on a
replacement computer but can't find the original qualifying software. It is
not installed on the replacement computer and I can't find the original disks
for the qualifying software, only for the upgrade. As a result I get an error
message indicating that the qualifying software can't be found. Is there any
way to work around this short of buying another license?

to use the upgrade....You need to have qualifying product installed or
qualifying program media to point the installer to....

The following programs are qualifying products for upgrade to
Office XP:
• Office 97 Professional
• Office 97 Standard
• Office 97 Small Business Edition version 1.0, version 2.0
• Office 2000 Standard
• Office 2000 Small Business
• Office 2000 Professional
• Office 2000 Premium
• Office 2000 Developer

It might be cheaper to purchase a new or used copy of one of the
qualifying products, rather than purchase a full (not upgrade)
version of Office XP or Office 2003.
