tri-fold brochure

Are there step-by-step directions for how to create a tr-fold brochure using
MIcrosoft Word. There are many templates but I'd rather not use one of those
designs, rather create my own. So I guess I would be looking for either a
generic (blank) template or step by step directions for page setup or
something similar.
