tricky link to Excel

I have a resource sheet in Excel which is updated daily,
and would like to link the daily total for a resource to
available resources in a resource pool. I would like the
total in Project to relect the total in Excel each day.
Any ideas? Thanks

This is generally done using a VBA procedure.
