Tried everything, but view changes don't apply

Hi. I've run out of options and am completely confused why this is
happening. I've reset all the folder views using the /cleanviews switch and
restarted outlook once, exited and then removed the switch. I then go back
into outlook 2003 and re-defined the 'Message' view (only 2 setting changes,
switch off email grouping, and switch off the preview pane). I click ok to
save the view and then select a subfolder of the Inbox. The sub folder
shows that is using the 'Message' view but it has the original default
settings. If I then do the same again above while having the folder
selected, definately changing the 'Message' view and not the 'Current View
Settings', and the save the change. Again this one particular folder takes
the change but the change only applies to that folder.

Why is it when the main 'Message' view is being re-defined are the changes
only being applied to the selected folder, rather than all the folders which
according to the view menu are already using the 'Message' view ?

I'm having the same problem. When I first noitced it, I reviewed over
50k messages on two Outlook newsgroups and saw the problem mentioned
numerous times, going back for months, but I haven't seen an answer.
I've posted a couple of times myself in the last week with no answer.

Is it a bug or what?

It does appear to be inconsistent. I've only just reinstalled this
workstation few days ago and didn't have any problems with it previously.
I've similarly got a laptop on the network as well, and it doesn't have any
problems. I may uninstall Outlook and manually remove the various files
that are left over and start again.

If I find any solution I'll let you know :)
