Trouble adding phone number to Outlook Contact

This just started this morning. I get a little pencil
symbol beside the phone number and I hear a beep when I
try to add a number. If I double click the pencil symbol a
new screen pops up with phone number but it still won't
let me add it.

Urghhhhhh!!!

Silly me...I had the number pad turned off! This is not a

problem!
