Trouble Importing .pst File

I'm having trouble importing a .pst file with the "Read
Only" properties of the .pst file disable (unchecked). I
still receive the 2 consecutive error messages that
supposedly disabling the read-only would help. I first
copied the .pst file from my old computer (Win98) onto a
CD-Rom, downloaded onto the new computer (WinXP) by
copying it to my desktop, checked the .pst properties,
and saw that the "Read Only" was NOT checked. Still
would not import. Please help (is there something else
I'm not doing??)??

Try running scanpst.exe against the file and see if it comes up with
anything.

Also instead of import use File-> Open-> Outlook Data File to prevent the
loss of custom views and forms.
