trouble with dual monitors

J

John Meech

I am using PP2002 with a Dell Inspiron 8500 laptop connected to an nView
display monitor.

If I click on Presenter View then I can get the show displaying on the
display monitor
and the Presenter View displaying on the laptop. While this allows me to run
the show,
I am unable to make action buttons work such as running an avi file.

If I click off Presnter View, I get the show on the display monitor but no
show appears
on the laptop and I still cannot run action buttons.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you set up dual monitors, you checked the box labeled "Extend desktop
to this monitor", correct? If so, your mouse/cursor will now work on the
full extended desktop. From Presenter's View, you can move your cursor to
the other monitor and click on buttons, etc., from there.

It depends on how you've placed your monitors physically, so I'll assume
that the Primary (laptop) monitor is the one on the left and the secondary
monitor (nView) is on the right. So, if you open PowerPoint on the Primary
monitor and set Slide Show to run on the Secondary Monitor, Presenter's View
will be on the left and the slide show will be on the right. Move your
cursor way over to the right if you want to click on a button in the Slide
Show.

Hope that helps.
