Troubleshooting Flowcharts

Sometimes, when I am creating flowcharts, I am unable to use the connectors
in the Drawing menu. I create all of my flowchart shapes, enter the text and
when I click on the connectors menu, they are all grayed out and I am unable
to select a connector. Help!

In Word 2002 and 2003, connectors are available only when you're using a
drawing canvas.
