Where can I find the Powerpoint icon (for Powerpoint 2000)
to be used as a link to a Powerpoint file?
Thanks for any help with this

Carol,

The icons are inside powerpnt.exe

If you create a shortcut to powerpnt.exe (in your program files directory)
Then right click the shortcut and choose "change icon" you will see all the
icons within powerpnt.exe

I was using a thing called SnagIt from http://www.techsmith.com/ and it will
allow you to open up all sorts of files and suck the icons and bmp's out of
them.

As will all versions of Corel Draw going back to 7 at least, probably beyond
that, if you've installed the EXE and ICO filters.
