Trying to open files with PPT2003 that were modified in PPT2000 does not work

I get an error each time that says, "Powerpoint can't read file......"

If I try to open files that were created in PPT 2000, it gives me an error
to the effect of "Powerpoint can't open ......ppt because part of the file
is missing."

All of these files can be open and read perfectly in PPT 2000.

What's going on? I installed all translators and filters with PPT2003,
nothing was left out during the install, save for the .NET crap. that I
don't need.

This is a known problem. The good news is that there is a fix available.
I have tested the fix and it resolves the problem, so if you have
encountered this problem, I recommend that you go to
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;828041, and read the
article carefully.
