Two instances of OL 2003 open!

Hi folks,

I am experiencing an odd problem. Whenever I click on a shortcut to open
Outlook 2003, two instances of the progam begin to run! Yes, I am only
clicking the icon once. If I attempt to close one instance, both instances
close. I have checked everything I know to check, and this annoying behavior
is persistent. What am I missing? Any ideas?
