two system install?

Thinking about upgrading to Win xp and Office xp/2003 from Win98se & Office
2k.

When I originally loaded 2k was told that I could "legally" load on my home
system AND laptop(only), believe I talked to MS to activate but toooo long
to remember.

If this is correct, can I do the same with upgrades to 2002/2003?

Thanks,

L.

Hope I'm not in trouble. :)

Yes on both versions. However, if your needs are only Office Standard, you
may want to get the Students and Teachers version (if you qualify) as you ca
install this version on up to 3 computers and there is no desktop/laptop
restriction.

Thanks for the info.

One last question.
Do I need to call in to get auth code or will the internet pick it up ok if
my user/license name and/or business name is the same on both systems?

Like you, it has been a while since I installed a retail version, but I
believe your first 2 activations are done via the Internet, as long as the
hardware hashes are different. (desktop and portable)
