typing along, and words move up on page?

I'll just be typing, and all of a sudden the letters insert themselves in
previous text, or delete a whole section?

If it is a laptop then the likely cause is inadvertent contact with the
touch pad. If a desktop the most likely cause is the unwanted intrusion of
voice recognition software. Turn off the microphone.
