TYPING IN THE PRODUCT KEY

Why won' t the system let me type in the product key? When I get to that
screen, it shows me what it looks like where I am supposed to type in the
product key, which I have. But when I try to type it in at the page, nothing
works. I have my num lock in the on position, but it won't do anything.
