Typing over a deleted section

Okay, when i delete in 2003/2004 and i put what i really want in the section,
it types over what i've already written. So if i am in the middle of a
paragraph, i end up having to type it all over again. Please Help.

Hi Lexa

Press the Ins or Insert key on the keyboard. This toggles between inserting
text and overwriting existing text. On the status bar, you will see OVR is
either dark (overwrite is on) or dimmed (insert is on).

Press the INSERT key to turn it off or double-click the OVR at the bottom
middle of your screen.
