Typing text in the left margin

M

Ms.My

In Word 2003, when typing letters, we like to include an asterisk (*) in the
left margin (actually 1 tab stop to the left) for each line that mentions an
enclosure. Sometimes it's at the beginning of the paragraph, and all I have
to do is set my first line indent to -.5, type the * and tab to begin the
paragraph. However, most times the enclosure is mentioned on the second or
third line of the paragraph and the * needs to be placed there.

Hope this makes sense.
