UML Method Body

When I type anything into the "UML Operation Properties --> Method" box,
click 'OK', then close and reopen the window, the text has been replaced by a
series of question marks. This happens if I choose "Text" or "pseudocode" as
the "Language." This seems to have come along with my update to Service Pack
2.

Visio Professional 2003 SP2 (11.5509.6568)
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2

Anyone else seeing this? If so, any workarounds other than uninstalling and
NOT installing SP2?

Thank you.

I have exactly the same problem. Some tips on the bug:

- In UML Class Properties, if you click on "Methods" button, you can
see/edit code. Fine.
- BUT if you click on properties (UML Operation Properties) and even display
the code, Clicking "Ok" will convert it into garbage !!!
-If you do it again, it will modify its own garbage again!

Researching the bug,

- If you write only 1 character on UML Operation Properties, it keeps it.
- If you write 2 characters, are replaced by a "?"
- If you add five characters, is replaced by 2 "?" plus the last character
plus 2 garbage ones (2+1+2=5)

So, seems some unicode bug (replacing each 2 characters by something else).
Seems the programmers used diferent ways to save the code on "UML Operation
Properties" dialog than the "UML Method Properties"

On the wrong one, each two characters you use are replaced by a "?" (that's
why I think is some kind of unicode problem). If they are even, the last one
is added, and finally filled with garbage to complete the total number.

I think the "save" function used within UML Operation Properties is buggy.

Any Microsoft help? That renders UML diagrams almost unusable! It's so easy
to loose hours of work, without even notice that!

Note: Using the "Methods" button is not a workaround, because you have to go
to The "UML Operation Properties" anyway to add function parameters.

I've verified the bug on English and Spanish versions.

Visio 2003, English, SP2, Office XP, English
Windows XP SP2, English

Visio 2003, Spanish, SP2, Office 2003, Spanish
Windows XP SP2, Spanish

Seems is a bug on all the product line.

Thank you for the thorough research on this issue. It is good that the
problem is not just me. It is very frustrating that the problem has no
workaround or fix.

Perhaps your analysis of the issue will lead to a fix. :)
